Maybe. I need to be less personal on this blog because it is public---and I haven't figured out how to make it private. Any help?

Good news: my sister is back in the States and I got to go to Texas to see my family and a handful of my closest friends. It was a much needed get-away because......

Bad news: (among other things) I'm still looking for a full time job---that one I wanted didn't work out---one of the things God is using to break me and mold me and learn to trust Him with EVERYTHING, as well as my personal life and relationships---even when some are taken away. :( Catch my drift as to how things have changed since the last blog? Yeah...I'm learning sometimes God will rid us of things that may not be bad in and of themselves, but if they are taking our focus from Him, he'll strip us of them----and it hurts like the dickens

Thanks for reading,
you stay classy
faith

We've finished MARCHing and it's already time for APE-ROLL? Crazy

Well gosh, yet again tons has happened in my life that would be way too long to type in detail.
Last week I interviewed at Big Idea, Inc. (Veggie Tales people) and I think it went pretty well. I will find out no later than Friday if I advanced to the next level which would be checking references. I have an interview today at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and I REALLY would love this job. It would be assistant to one of the main booking agents there who books a lot of shows of Christian artists all over the country! It would be totally rad. So if you read this before 4:30 today, please pray for me because that's when my interview is.

I've been busy hanging out with a band called HillCity Lights because well, (here comes the bomb drop) my new beau is the drummer! He is wonderful and their music is great! So far so good...it's only been about 2-3 weeks. We met at Interlinc because we both work there, so it's nice that we get to see each other every day at work (at least for now, but hopefully I will get an offer from one or both of these companies I'm interviewing with).

Last weekend my friend Stephanie took me with her to Ohio to work merch for Switchfoot. She has connections with their merch guy. We worked 2 shows, got to meet and talk with the band (well for me it was my first time--she's met them several times). It was so much fun! So cool!

Church is going well. I LOVE my church---especially my community group. We are getting closer and closer. This coming weekend we are going "camping" at Fall Creek Falls State Park. We got like a lodge thing there and we're just going to hang out and get away together for a weekend. It's going to be about 10 or 11 of us. I'm so stoked to just retreat.

So here you go....here are pics:

This is Jon Foreman and me. He is the lead singer of Switchfoot. Legit! These guys are so nice and genuine. I was quite upset.

I am horrible at keeping up with this blog. It has been several weeks since I updated and for that I say I am sorry. It will be way hard to try and update on all that has happened but I guess the February highlights were:

1. I got settled into my new part-time job at Interlinc and I am enjoying it for the most part. I don't really want to stay there forever but it is great for this in between time. I am learning how to be a sales person over the phone. I am not excellent at it but for the most part I am enjoying it and it is decent pay.
2. Momma and Daddy came to visit me for a few days and I got to show them around Nashy for a bit. We also drove down to Hotlanta for my cousin Sarah's wedding.
3. I turned 23, had a little party, went to a great show featuring: matt wertz, dave barnes, brandon heath, needtobreathe, jon foreman, alison krauss with union station, and big kenny of big and rich. It was phenomenal.

Here's Tammy and me at my birthday party. (that's the sweater that was Me-Maw's)

As always I have been frequenting shows in town and hanging out with new friends. Life is good. Nannying has gotten a little bit better but I am hoping to be able to quit nannying and Interlinc by around May and have a full time job.

Here's one of my favorite local artists: Tyler James backed up by Andy Davis

(not so) Fun fact: this is the first time in my life I am not on Spring Break during this week--but that is ok. I get 3 day weekends every week for now, so I am good.

This is my community group leader Ben and me in tacky clothes when we went roller skating last week!

Thanks for reading. Whoop!

Last week I went to see Love and Theft in concert and they are AMAZING live...like oh so good. I talked to my band member friend Brian afterwards and he proceeded to introduce me to fellow band-mate Stephen (who I had meet back in August) and Stephen totally remembered me! It made my day. It was so cool. Here's a picture or two from the show.

Brian, Stephen, and Eric = Love and Theft or (LNT)

FYI: Stephen Barker Liles of LNT is the Stephen that Taylor Swift's song "Hey, Stephen" is written about. They opened for her on tour about 2 years ago.

I guess that is about all for now. I hope everyone is well. Maybe one day I will understand that caffiene > Faith's will power.

This will be a short post, but look at these fun pictures that COULD BE YOU!

My friend Cameron from A&M and his best friend Tabor were my first visitors to Nashville a couple of weeks ago. They left Rosebud, TX at 4 am on a Friday morning and arrived at my door at 6:45 p.m. after a brief stop in Memphis. We had a super fun time and then we drove back together (with my car too) just in time for Christmas.

This is outside Pancake Pantry (A Nashville staple)

Tabes and I chasing geese at Centennial (that's for you, Hillary)

Who's the king of the world? Tabes...of course (I love this picture)

This is a total rip-off of when I had this idea last Fall in D.C. at the Jefferson memorial.

(haha, see? That is from Nov. 2008)

We make cute pictures...just sayin'

Grand Ole Opry!! Rhoads, Andy Davis, Andrew Belle, Jeremy Lister, Matthew Perryman Jones, and Tyler James.

Music sums up my life. I.love.it.

I need to be better at keeping up because I can't really sum up 2 months of my life on one blog or it would be interminable and no one would read it.

I guess I will keep to the more recent news. Last Saturday I had the privilege (thanks to Gotee) to go see Gotee band House of Heroes, along with Remedy Drive and Family Force 5. It was a great show! Here are a few pictures:

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_0ncB4c7Nsjg/SycXcSQ1y3I/AAAAAAAAALw/_tdL6IpEl9o/s1600-h/IMG_1826.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; This is Bear and I almost strummed his guitar (I could have) but I chickened out. Also, like a dummy I had my phone resting on the stage and he almost crushed it. Thankfully he didn't. :>)
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; And here is my house! We love it. It's great and it is in a GREAT part of town. We are so close to everything. :>) :>) :>)

Well, my internships are just about over (Dryve is done and I am going into Gotee for like 2 days this week). We celebrated at Gotee last week though because some guys will be gone this week, like Joey, the boss. They took me out to lunch, gave me a gift card to Target and thanked me for all my hard work. It was great! Dryve gave me a ticket for this Thursday's stand-up comedy act by the one and only Dave Barnes...What? He does stand up? Yes, yes he does. I'm excited. Check out his new Christmas Extravaganza Video....so....stinkin..funny.

Then on Friday, my dear friend Cameron Habel is coming to visit until we go back for Christmas. More fun straight ahead!

Tonight I went over to the girls' house that I babysit for to play with their new kitten, Callie. She is the sweeeeeetest kitten! She'll just let you hold her forever. Tyler, the dog loves her and I actually predict that they become friends:

Face-off...I love it

Tyler making me feel uncomfortable---I'm still not a dog person....

Allie with Ty and Callie

Katie with Callie

Me and Callie!! She is sooooooo precious. 7 weeks old.

In other news, my grandfather, Ga-Ga, passed away 3 weeks ago and it has been very hard. Things remind me of him and I start crying. I had my first dream about him the other day since he's been gone and I was at my wedding about to marry God knows who (really...God knows who) and there was a guy there who looked like Ga-Ga but it wasn't. In my dream (or maybe in real life), I exclaimed, "THAT'S NOT GA-GA!" because I was so upset that it was someone that looked like him but it wasn't the real man that I love. I woke myself up in mid-wail, groan, sorrowful noise and I had tears streaming down my face. It was way intense and I didn't like it. I feel that it is worth documenting though because he is worth the tribute. That is a hard thing that I've been facing though is that I am so sad that he will not be able to attend my wedding (if and when that ever happens). Anyways, Ga-Ga, I love you and I miss you terribly.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; It releases next week (also fantastic and has a song featuring Matty T). He gets around! I'm just in love with his voice so I love anything that he helps out with.

The Relient K Show last week was as always, very wonderful. Here are a few pics:

Hoopes and Thiessen

Matt :)

The job and apartment search is officially on. I mostly wanted to get all those pictures to you guys. Hopefully I will actually type a better update in this next week or so. Stay tuned!

Thanks for reading,

You stay classy,

Faith

Teaser...

Howdy blog-world!

I can't believe it has been literally about 3 weeks since I updated. I have been trying to be diligent-ish and blog about 2 times a week, but literally I have been so busy I have been putting it off. So many photos I must share with you over what has happened! Let me just give you a teaser of what I will blog about soon and what some big events are that have happened:

-Oct 3rd Elaine and Josh (good friends of mine from college) got married in San Antonio so I had a quick trip back home to Texas
-Oct. 6th Relient K's album Forget and Not Slow Down FINALLY released. It.is.incredible.
-Oct. 7th-10th was Next Big Nashville (NBN) that I attended with Valerie. Basically it is a 4 day-16 venue-200+ artist showcase. It was a blast.
-Oct. 11th I attended my 5th Relient K show. It was epic. The volume of happiness that I experience at one of their shows is equivalent to how much fun I have country dancing (probably actually more), but whatever my brain releases during both of those activities is exactly the same because the euphoria that rushes over me is actually indescribably numbing...no exaggeration---just ask Rachel Blythe my new good friend up here.
-I've started attending a Bible study on Tuesday nights called Kairos that is very similar to Breakaway
-Last week I started a Bible study of a book called Crazy Love through Brentwood Baptist.
-Oct. 16th-18th I went to Atlanta to visit the Kramers (Uncle Victor/Aunt Dewey, Jerome/Sarah/Sarah/kiddos).

Those are the highlights to look forward to. I still have to put more photos on my computer, but here is a teaser. Most have probably already seen this.

He remembered me. :) :) :) :) :)

Thanks for reading. Are we reverting back to xanga frequency, Faith? Well, I wanted to blog about B's release party while it was still fresh. Oh my goodness, it was so much fun! I invited my friend Valerie because I knew she'd enjoy it too and so that I'd always have someone to talk to if mingling turned out to be a bust. Welp before it even got started we had the fun time getting to mingle and talk to Dave Barnes. Not only does he have a fantastic singeing voice and is a gifted lyricist, but if you didn't know this before.....that guy is stinking hilarious. (<---click link to justify my statement) I had met him a few weeks ago at work, and he knows I'm friends with Seth (who he is friends with too) and I could tell he was reeling, trying to figure out why I looked familiar. Anyways, I filled him in and he did a crazy (ah HAH! That's it! laugh) Then when we were all wrapping up the convo, he was like, well I'll see you again I'm sure. And I said, yup, I'm there Monday/Friday. I'm at Gotee Tues-Thurs. He goes, "Ah, so you're cheating...double dipping!". yup. I am posting a video of him sharing nice words about B on my Facebook. I still can't figure out how to make my blog capable of uploading videos. The icon is nowhere to be seen.

Dave said some of the sweetest things about B.

So the actual party was great fun. It even involved crowd participation. I was feeling gutsy when B conducted a trivia portion of the night. (Hello challenge team/nerd bowl...I have ALWAYS loved trivia) He asked, "who knows all the bands that I am touring with on the Creation Fest tour right now?"...Welp, thanks to my OTHER internship at Dryve, I knew this answer because I entered those tour dates for TFK on their website. So, I got to go up on the mic, spill the answer, get a high 5 from B (who at this point I had not officially met and he didn't know I was basically his intern), and I won a gift card to supposedly this amazing coffee shop. It is where he got coffee on his first episode of his webisodes called "something 2 remember". To view this episode, click here
It's actually quite entertaining. I recommend watching. B's hilarious...and the boy can rhyme...and be smooth. :>)

Anyways, the rest of the party was quite fun. My superiors introduced me to @therealtobymac (if you want to follow him on twitter). Toby is a very small guy. And his wedding ring is tattooed. So hardcore. It was a pleasure meeting one of my childhood heroes...shoot, it's a pleasure working for him. He does not come in the office when I am there, but Joey (the other president) is there every day and he is fantastic too. I am truly blessed by the people I work with, and last night, it was affirmed that it works the other way around too. I was humbled.

B.Reith with Joey Elwood (Gotee president)

To end the night, I introduced myself to B and talked to him a bit. I told him that I had a great time and I was truly encouraged by his music. He thanked me for winning. (He was kinda left hanging, cuz no one else was knowing the answer.) It was a great night, and dude, the new album is phenomenal. I am not just plugging him because he's on the label I am working for. Seriously, go get that album. It is only $7.99 on iTunes right now. To sample and see a little bit about who B is, watch this---the single from his first EP. Or if you're more in a lovey dovey mood, watch AweStruck

B's last performance was one of my top 3 faves on the new album. It's a very sweet worshipful song and you can view it here (from a few months ago when he sang it live fresh after being written)

Thanks to those who watched the Live party. Gah, it was such a blast. I will be there in the flesh. This will be my first time to be at anything that is streaming live on the internet with the possibility of you maybe seeing me. I'm pretty pumped. Last week B's manager extended a personal invitation to me for the party. I was kinda blown away. Also guest appearing will be Dave Barnes and TobyMac so hopefully I will finally have the opportunity to shake hands with "the big boss man"-----> Toby.

Yesterday, I had a grand old time hanging with Sethy. He took me to lunch to thank me for helping him with music stuff cuz I am basically his intern too. It's fun helping a friend. He's getting ready for a new roommate to share his room, so I helped him clean and reorganize the room. 8 hours later I went home. The room looks great in case you're wondering. We ate lunch at a local joint called Baja Burrito. I am thrilled to have experienced it because after missing Freebirds, it is a great substitute. Furthermore, it is cheaper AND olives is an option and sour cream is not an "extra". Pure bliss. Guac is an extra so I passed but maybe next time I'll splurge. The clincher is it is walking distance from my Monday/Friday internship. I usually pack a lunch but now I can make plans to get that for lunch on occasion.

Seth's show Tuesday was killer. His friend Rob Blackledge played after and he was great too. Matt Wertz made a guest appearance as well. Here are some pics from Tues:

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; No big deal....

The other day I went to Border's and met a guy who was performing there. We exchanged contact info because he may be in need of some help with what he's doing too. He's pretty good. (www.tylersummers.com) Then I went (for the first time) to the movies all by myself and saw 500 Days of Summer. LOVED IT. Maybe one of my new favorite movies, and this scene was AMAZING: Awesomeness

Tonight, I am heading into Nashville to see my friend Seth Philpott perform some good soul music. I've also been an unofficial intern for him too. I've been helping him out with some Facebook marketing and such. Good stuff. Good stuff.

Welp, so much for brief. Happy birthday, Henry V. I love you!

Thanks for reading. We were both in Phi Lamb together and she just moved to Franklin like 6 days ago! Again, she is doing the same thing I am. She is living with her cousin (probably temporarily) so I dunno, MAYBE she'd need a roommate or something. :) She is gonna be subbing in schools hopefully but ultimately wants to pursue the music industry like me. WHOOP! Small world and boy was it refreshing to run into someone that I actually know, especially cuz yesterday I had a bad case of the homesickness/lonesomeness. Praise God for friends and Aggies!

After church, I went to another church's picnic lunch (I've been attending that church a little bit too and the people have been so welcoming---I love them!). I got to meet a guy who is fairly well connected in the business and he encouraged me a lot and told me that he'd keep his ears open for opportunities for me.

After the picnic, (well, I had been driving the BMW all day) Marilyn said we could go for a drive...with the top down. So, about 2 hours later, I had been spoiled getting to drive a BMW convertible all over Franklin & Leipurs Fork. It was a blast!

This was when we finished the drive. This is me in front of the Hoekstra's house...where I am living. So guys, you finally have a visual of "my house"!

It was a gorgeous day and now it is actually raining! Weather.com gives me this report: Franklin Weather 9/3/09
Looks like rain all day. I am ok with that. However, I just got the girls off to school for my 3rd day in a row and now I have a day to myself because Gotee told me I didn't need to come in today. Brad's (guy at work) mac died last week so he's kinda just been taking over computers each day. He's going to use mine today, so they didn't want me to come in and not have a computer. I said I could bring my own laptop if they needed me. I told them I'd be more than willing to do that, so they are just going to call me if they need me for anything.

I was planning to hang out in downtown Franklin and just go to different shops maybe but I may not do that if it is raining a lot. Downtown Franklin is really cute and I haven't really given it much time to explore it:

Here is the Starbucks in downtown Franklin.

If the weather clears up, and someone else can watch the girls for a few hours til their mom gets home, I'd like to go to Nashville tonight for the first of six concerts in a series for Live on the Green, a free concert that tonight will be featuring:

Heather, I thought of you immediately when I saw the Toadies will be there. I am also excited about Ten out of Tenn (TOT). But, I won't get my hopes up because I may not be able to go, or it might be rained out (?). We shall just have to see how the day goes.

Right now I am sitting with Tyler (the dog) and I need to take him on a walk so he can relieve himself. Do you take dogs for walks in thunderstorms? Should I just wait a little longer? I don't even know....

During work yesterday, Mr. Mark Lee Townsend came by so that was pretty cool.

Sorry this post is kind of all over the place. This is my 3rd day in a row of waking up around 6:30 a.m. which is pretty crazy for me. Anyhow,

Thanks for reading. I don't think I have those words exactly right but you get the gist. Well if you readers know me at all you know that I am not particularly a) a dog person and b) a kid person. Well surprise surprise guess what I am doing right now? I am house sitting/nannying/dogsitting for twin 9 year old girls and a bichon-frise named Tyler. I like Tyler but sometimes he can be a little bichon (take off the "on" and add a "t" in there) when I can't catch him to put him in his crate. But I for the most part surprisingly enjoy him and he doesn't smell bad. He's actually pretty cute. I don't have a picture of him but I googled his type. He kinda looks like this:

He just got a haircut though so he is not that fluffy anymore. Oh Tyler.

Anyways, so I had my first experience at being a mom today (minus babysitting Saturday night for the easiest most well-behaved cutest kids ever that live next door). Today I had to pick up the girls from softball, get them home, make sure they did their homework, make sure they get ready for bed...etc. I even had to discipline because one of them deliberately disobeyed me when I told her to go take a shower. Instead of getting ready for bed, I caught her with the tv on in her mom's bedroom, NOT SHOWERED. Ohh I was irked. They are allowed to have dessert since they had an early dinner before softball (this was before I became "mom") so her punishment was a small portion of dessert (smaller than her twin sister's). I told her that disobedience has consequences, "you understand?" 'yes ma'am'.

That's what I like to hear. I am learning to lay down the law. So, prayers accepted for the next 3 days...and after that too.

Interning was pretty fun today. If you go to www.thousandfootkrutch.com and look at their tour dates, I pretty much filled all those in as well as www.derekwebb.com (which actually hasn't launched yet but will in a few days I think). I also logged in to facebook as Dave Barnes and Derek Webb and made some concert events for upcoming shows. Tomorrow, back to Gotee! Should be more fun times ahead! Stay tuned.

Also, yesterday I hung out with my new friend that I met on Tuesday. We met up for church with the Hoekstras (my host family) and then she and I spent the afternoon getting to know each other in conversation and then went to see Post Grad. It's a movie about a girl who graduates college and then can't find a job. HA. Well, we both identified with it, except for the fact that Alexis Bledel in the movie has two hott guys interested in her. Dangit.

Thanks for reading. You stay classy,
Faith G

Mark Lee Townsend

I just shook hands/met one of my heros: Mr. Mark Lee Townsend. I found out from work that a Beatles cover band called the "64 band" was going to be playing at a place tonight called the Bunganut Pig. Of course that sounded like a good time and it was a free show. So I went, only to find out that the frontman is Mark Lee Townsend. His resume is outstanding and I have been a fan of his work for years. Namely he has mixed and produced several of Relient K's songs/albums, plus played guitar for dcTalk just to name a few things.

I stayed for the full 3 hour set and only one song stumped me. Turns out, I have heard it before but I couldn't sing along with it like I did for all the rest.

Short post, but I wanted to write while it was fresh...like 30 minutes fresh.

thanks for reading, you stay classy,
Faith

p.s. I just pulled this bio from myspace.com/markleetownsend :

The multi-faceted career of Mark Lee Townsend is exemplified through his work as a producer, engineer, guitarist and singer/songwriter. These various positions have led to his continual influence on the music industry.

After playing in various bands in high school (including one with Flogging Molly drummer, George Schwindt) Townsend entered the national music scene in 1984 as a singer/guitarist/songwriter for CCM new wave pioneers, Bash 'N The Code. From here he worked with various artists, eventually becoming guitarist for Steve Taylor and Some Band in the early 90s. In 1995 he joined dc Talk and toured with them through 2001. In 1997 when they took a break from tours, he and the other members of dc Talk's backing band focused on their own music by starting the band Zilch. Townsend was the writer/vocalist/guitarist and they put out their album "Platinum" on Gotee Records.

Shortly after this release, dc Talk started touring again, and the members of Zilch put their project on hold and went back on the road with dc Talk. During breaks, Townsend continued on the road as Jennifer Knapp's lead guitarist, doing tours with Jars Of Clay, Third Day and shows at the acclaimed Lilith Fair.

In 2002, Townsend decided to take a break from touring and with this, he switched the focus of his profession but not industry. It turned out that he not only had talent for being a musician, but also a producer. He began working with a little-known band at the time called Relient K and went on to producing five of their albums as well as part of their most recent album. His work can also be heard on albums by House Of Heroes, The Wedding, The O.C. Supertones, Jennifer Knapp, The Evan Anthem and Deas Vail.

As if he hadn't already crossed an ample amount of boundaries in his career, in 2004 Townsend moved to Nashville and started Brave New World, a record company to focus on artist development and doing in house records, much like many of the record labels in the 1960's. In between productions, Townsend is currently working on his first solo record and the sophomore Zilch album as well, scheduled to be released early next year.

Mark has also recently entered the national pop scene as a writer, penning the music for the Kelly Clarkson song "Cry" on her latest release "All I Ever Wanted".

Recently, Townsend has been quoted as saying "I'm not sure what the future is of the music business or rock 'n roll (economically speaking), but I still see a need to make honest music that affects the lives of people in a good way, and I think that always has a future. I want to hopefully continue to be a part of that and leave some tangible positive thing in the world".

Don't Wake Me!!!

Howdy,

Well, the trend is to meet a band each week. So far, this pattern has not failed. Last night on facebook, I found out that my old acquaintance/friend Brian Bandas' band was having a CD release party at Best Buy about 30 minutes away. I think to myself, sure, you should go! So I did...

Here are the guys holding up their album!

Here is a picture of me and the guys. Brian on the right is the one that I know. It was so great seeing him. He was like, "Faith Griffin! Blast from the past! How are you doing? Great to see you."....We got to catch up a bit. They are about to hit a tour with Jason Aldean---pretty cool if you ask me.

So, when I was in line waiting to have the boys sign my cd and take a picture with them, a girl caught my attention when she goes, "Is that an AGGIE RING?"...I says yes. So of course we are immediate best friends. Not really, but we ended up exchanging numbers. Basically, we are on the same journey right now. She just graduated with a COMM degree, is interning up here (for Brian's record label) for no money, and she lives alone with her cat (I want to get a cat eventually). So, hopefully we can hang out and get to know each other because we already have a lot in common based on talking for less than 5 minutes.

YAY Aggie network. Yay new friends. I arrived here on Thursday evening after about a 14 hour drive spanned over 2 days. Previously to this trip, I had never driven farther than 3 hours in one sitting. ha! It really was not as hard as I had predicted. I made a killer playlist and listened to about an hour of The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring. I regret not having updated in a really long time but I was really busy with moving out of College Station *tear* which my last blog circulated around. Then I was trying to move back into my bedroom at home which was difficult because I have way too much stuff. I am trying to simplify my life a little bit. Then we went to Boston to visit Liese and Phil. Anyways, I am somewhat settled in here at my host home. I still have some unpacking to do. I only unloaded my car this morning so I was living out of my car for 3 days literally. I am not a fan of it---not something I'd ever choose to do on purpose. I already have learned how to get around the Franklin area decently well and I went to visit Valerie in Nashville today. I got myself back "home" from Val's house without using Alfred, my GPS. I was proud of myself. Anyways, to make a long story short, I was also busy with preparations for one of my best friends, Kristen's wedding last week. She got married to Jeff on Sunday and it was a blast! On my way up to Franklin on Thursday, I stopped in Memphis and went to tour Graceland. I came to find out that this is Elvis week because the anniversary of his death is tomorrow. Tourism was up as a result. I had a good time and it was neat to see "the King's Cave" hahaha. I shall try to post pictures of Graceland once I get my pictures loaded onto my computer. I guess that is a shortened version of the past 3 weeks or so. Here are a few pictures!

Jeff, me, and Kristen

My last night in College Station, the boys took me out country dancing...my favorite thing ever!

Me, Liese, and Phil at Lynch Park in MA

Thanks for reading. It was quite frustrating. I can't go into details since this is a public blog, but I have to say it was just mighty hard to man/woman up and be the bigger person in the situation. I knew I was running into the trying situation head-on and my wise roommate advised me to "Kill 'em with kindness". It worked out decently well I guess but still my head has been running wild. Gosh, could I be more ambiguous?

We have been anxiously moving out of our house in College Station. We have been going going going nonstop with moving things all over...so we can clean...and then re-clean....And now only 2 more remain. Heather and I are the last ones left to assess the damage yet to be done. It is hard but it has to be done.

I have a phone interview Monday with another management company about possibly interning with them too. If it doesn't work out at the very least, I hope to keep the contact I made there open and amiable. They manage some of my favorite artists so it would be pretty cool. To name a few: FM Static, downhere, Shawn McDonald, Dave Barnes...etc. Did that get you excited?

I have been extremely emo all day. I even dressed the part. I found my dream shirt the other day. It is white and has music all over it..like I want to try and "play" my shirt on the piano. I dunno what song it is. The staff is a little bit abstract though so I am not sure if it is actually possibly to make sense of the notes written all over it. So I wore that shirt today with my skinny jeans and new emo-flats with dots on them. It was stellar. My town hall friends should be proud of their influence on my wardrobe. :>)

I need to work out.

I am so pooped. Hopefully I didn't bore you with my venting. Still so much to do. It seems so trivial, but I am really leaning on God to try and get this all done. I feel like I have never been ripped into so many pieces in such a long time. I am so physically and emotionally drained I can hardly think straight.

Thanks for reading. You stay classy.
-Faith

p.s. I attended the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince premiere and yes I dressed up:

This is my friend Kristen and me reppin' Gryffindor

I Just Want to Dance Like There's No Tomorrow...

Yes, my title IS a Paula Abdul song lyric. I am super cool like that. Oh College Station, you and I only have about 2 more weeks together. My feelings are split 50/50 with happy excitement and depressing sadness. When I live in the moment, I am so excited for what is coming next, but when I think about the past 4 years, often (like last night for instance, and the day before that for instance) I will begin to tear up and sometimes even cry full-out tears. The transition has been eased however because a lot of my friends have already moved on and I am one of the last to leave this town.

Lately, my days have been consumed with working 4 hours in the morning, and then running errands in the 199389897 degree heat. Today I had to buy a new muffler because well, I broke off my tailpipe last night. It had been on the brink, roaring a loud warning at me every time I accelerated or idled. The tail pipe falling off was the final indicator that it was time to buy that baby a new muffler. However embarrassing the roaring was, I couldn't help but wish that I had neon lights and hydrolics to go with it...oh and don't forget a rockin speaker system with the Bass turned up way loud.

I have 11 more days of work. I am definitely counting down the days. However, it is not so awesome that I have no idea where my next paycheck will come from after I receive these last 2 or 3.

Yesterday, after I missed the opportunity to partake in the awesomeness of realizing that the exact time was 12:34:56 on 07.08.09, I for the first time finally watched Independence Day, the movie. I kinda wished I had watched it 5 days ago when it would have had more IMPACT. bahaha. get it?...ok no. But I had always wanted to see it because 4 years ago in NYC I met Jeff Goldblum with friends and I didn't know who he was----the only movie I had seen with him was Jurassic Park when I was little and his other big hit likely that I would have known was Independence Day--which I had not seen. So for the last 4 years it has been on my list of movies to watch. I was impressed with it. Bill Pullman has never let me down. Love him. I also came to this realization. I was thinking that Jeff Goldblum (at least in that movie) has a similar voice to Harrison Ford. Then I chuckled to myself because I have not met too many actors, but it just so happens that I have met both of them. Interesting....Here, the proof is in the pictures...not the pudding like they say:

So what's on tap for tonight, you ask? Sadly, we were "not what they were looking for" this season. Also sadly we did not get to see Ryan Seacrest or any of the famous judges. (I really wanted to meet Simon really bad) The only judges here were producers, so I sang in front of someone who I don't even know who she was. I sang literally half of the first verse of Wide Open Spaces before I was cut off. :>( I guess time was of the essence when I am guessing there were about 6,000 people there to audition in just one day.

Everyone was up in the stadium seating and we were brought down section by section. Once on the floor, there were long lines of 4 people across. Then each group of 4 people walked to one of 12 booths, and sang individually in front of the judge. It was long, but fairly efficient.

Overall, I had a great trip! It was a nice respite from work. I got to visit my good friends Alyssa and Callie and Angela while I was up there. I also met a nice Aggie in a coffee shop. Love that network!

After I left Dallas, I went to San Antonio to see my friend Kristen Huddleston. We worked the merchandise table for Autumn and Walt Wilkins for a show. It was pretty fun, but quite hot because the show was outdoors. Today I got to visit the Alamo for the first time since I was I think in a stroller. I didn't remember it being so small. Did it shrink? I guess I just got taller. Also the Gap had a killer jeans sale and I got 2 pairs of the most pefect fit for $19.99 each...regularly $58. I was in heaven. Well, it is nice to be back in College Station. This has been "home" for 4 years but it is kinda weird that I really only have about 4 more weeks left here. I am ready for a change though. I think it will be great.

Thanks for reading. They are like short little movies and they also are very educational. This is the way I see it. Soon and very soon I will be serving the music industry in Nashville. What if I ran into Blake Shelton or Josh Turner, etc. in the supermarket and I did not previously know what they looked like? What a shame that would be that the opportunity to professionally meet them had passed me by because I was ignorant about their appearance. Gotta love CMT/GAC.

I've decided that country music is wonderful food for the soul and mind as well. It is so refreshing, and downright hilarious. If it is not a feel-good love song for a small-town woman/man or way of life, it is a hilarious song about lost love and love found again. It is a winning combination if you ask me.

Check out "People are Crazy" by Billy Currington. It is one of my favorites for now:

"Good is great. Beer is good. People are crazy."....Here here, I'll raise my glass to that. :>)

So I almost bought a ticket to fly the coup to Hong Kong next week but it didn't work out. However, since that fell through, I am going to follow through with my tentative plan to attend the American Idol auditions in Dallas next week. I know I won't make it very far but it will be quite the experience to give it a whirl!

Thanks for reading. That would be wonderful, no? I am about to go crazy working at corps recruiting now that I can see light at the end of the tunnel and a semblance of a different life in just a mere 2 months. Ah, 2 months. It seems so far away! To be honest, I don't really know what I'll be doing at my internship, but for all I know, I could be Toby Mac's assistant. My friend Teddy interned last summer with Gotee, and that is what he did. I would be ok with that.

Me + hanging with

= FUN!!

Even if I am not Toby Mac's assitant, I will hopefully get to meet my
favorite boys in Relient K at some point but I won't get my hoopes up.
(Hoopes = intentional typo)

Jon, Matt, Matt, Ethan, John

So I have been busy trying to sort of clean up my room a bit and get rid of junk
that I don't need. Today I scrubbed the bathtub. Ewwww. Tonight I am going to the Hall for an
acoustic set by Mr. Mike Eli of the Eli Young band. MMMM. I am excited.
This makes my 3rd show in about a week, and I had been to quite a few before
last week. I need to quit doing that, but I love my music. So for now, I don't
have much new news, so here's to you, followers.
I am not sure where we are going, but thanks for
following!

Take the last train to [Nash]ville.
I'll be waiting at the station.
We'll have time for coffee flavored kisses
And a bit of conversation.
Oh... One of them is with Platinum Pen Publishing and the other is with Gotee Records. I am beyond stoked! For over 7 years I have been a committed fan to my favorite band of all time: Relient K. Guess what record label they are under?
Yes indeed. You guessed correctly. Gotee--which was started by Toby Mac, of dcTalk. MMHMM. (<---RK fans, catch the reference?) God is blessing me! I cannot be more thankful. I have found myself waking up each morning (since I found out) and just praising Him. Next is to figure out where I can live at least temporarily, and how soon will I relocate myself to the area. Gotee's offer is for the fall semester, and Platinum Pen's offer is "name my own time", so potentially I could try and swing it to do both. It is a matter of trust and timing to see how God wants to work it out. In the meantime, my motto is, "excel at the revealed things of His will". I have it written on my mirror so I can see it when I am getting ready in the mornings.
So in the immediate future, I am still in College Station working at good ole' Corps of Cadets Recruiting, saving money, and preparing to move out of my house.
Life is a highway. I wanna ride it. I am loving this adventure so far.

Thanks for reading. I want to think of myself as a "social networking website" expert, but it does take a little bit of time to navigate a new website until you can name yourself an expert. To be honest, the recent joining of twitter and blogger are in a way "career" moves because I am seeking to enter the music business, and these types of websites are exploding as useful marketing tools---especially Twitter. So you can imagine that I want to familiarize myself with these websites, and also, I just enjoy new trends and like conformity when it comes to new internet fads like this. Almost every big named artist can legitimately receive an @ shoutout on Twitter. For example: Hey @tylerhilton, I am listening to your music right now! You can find me at Twitter.com/faithsays :>)

In other news, I went to my first wedding of the summer today. One of my dear friends that I met working at the Waco Fuddrucker's, Terrell, married his love today and I am glad I was there to be a witness. It was a fun time and he is an interpreter so it was neat that a lot of his friends from the deaf community came and there was an interpreter for the wedding and the reception. As you can imagine, it was a relatively quiet reception because over half of the attendees were not able to hear. It was a neat experience.

Thursday I went to a show in Dallas for Autumn Boukadakis who I have been interning for since January. You can find her at twitter.com/autumnbouk and she played with @bobbyduncan. I am a new fan of his up and coming Texas country music. It was a good show and I look forward to re-visiting Harry's in College Station for Randy Rogers Band on June 3rd. Accompanying him will be Mr. Wade Bown. I can't wait.

I guess this is enough to read for now. I don't want to lose readers because of my copious blog entries. However, I just have 2 followers so far, so heck. Whatever.

Thanks for reading.
